EARL Le Petit Mataret is a family-run oyster farm located in La Tremblade, in the iconic Marennes-Oléron oyster-farming area. The company takes its name from the locality where it was founded in 1991 by the Jarno family, who perpetuate oyster farming expertise passed down since 1841, with several generations of oyster farmers behind them.
The company is now managed by Hugo Chadaigne, and works every day to produce high-quality oysters, respecting the environment and local traditions.
Oyster farming expertise
The main activity of EARL is the breeding, refining and sale of oysters from the famous Marennes-Oléron basin, which benefits from a natural environment conducive to shellfish farming.
🔹 The farm carries out all stages of production:
Spat collection in the Seudre
Farming in marine parks
Matured in salt ponds in La Tremblade
🔹 Quality controls are carried out at each stage to guarantee the best possible product, taking into account water quality and health standards.
The IGP Marennes-Oléron and the Label Rouge indicate recognized quality and traceability criteria for these oysters.
